PCB Changes Schedule for Non-Participants in PSL Showcase

National T20 Players Participating in BPL 2023

This decision only applies to players not participating in future exhibition matches
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced that national players will be allowed to participate in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) till February 8, sources told Geo News on Tuesday.

The players were earlier instructed to ensure that they return home by February 2, but the PCB decided to bar the cricketers from playing in the exhibition match in Quetta between Peshawar Zalmi and Quetta Gladiators.

Change in Return Date for Players Competing in Exhibition Match

Athletes Slated to Compete in February 5 Exhibition Ordered to Return Home by February 2 Earlier, the PCB had advised all players to return home by February 2, 11 days before the start of PSL 8 in Multan. The PCB said it has brought the player back to play in PSL 8 at the request of the franchise, which has encouraged him to return.

It is worth mentioning that in BPL 2023, the top players of the national T20 team such as Mohammad Rizwan, Harith Rauf, Iftikhar Ahmed and Nasim Shah are present. Earlier, PCB Board of Control Chairman Najam Sethi had instructed all the players that participation in the exhibition match scheduled in Quetta is mandatory.

Opening Ceremony of PSL 8 and Teams to Watch

Please note that the opening ceremony of PSL 8 will be held on February 13 in Multan, before the opening match between 2021 winners Multan Sultans and defending champions Lahore Qalandars. The closing ceremony and finals will be held on March 19 in Lahore along with the playoffs.

Lahore Qalandar will try to become the first team to win back-to-back titles. Meanwhile, Islamabad United will try to be the most successful team by lifting the cup three times.

Rawalpindi will host 11 games, Karachi and Lahore will host 9 games each and Multan will host 5 games.
