Oubre joined Charlotte's starting lineup, but went 11 from the field in the first half.
Durant and the Suns' first basket came on a drive from the left side of the lane. He went 10-of-15 from the field in 27 minutes.
The Hornets closed at 69-61 in the third quarter, with Booker's 3-pointer and 3-pointer helped to stave off the threat.
