Jazz coach Will Hardy excited to reunite with former team Spurs and mentor Gregg Popovich

After spending several years in the Spurs system, Will Hardy left for Utah to coach a rebuilt Jazz team that had previously held a 31-31 record.
Both Will Hardy and Quinn Snyder share a similar background, having been mentored by Popovich during their time in the NBA while also pursuing their passions outside of basketball.

As a child growing up in Richmond, Washington, Hardy had to work his way up from the bottom. Popovich believes that Hardy inspired the Jazz to rally and beat the Spurs by a margin of 118 to 102 on Saturday night.
He's exceptionally intelligent and diligent. "He quickly shows understanding of our coaches thanks to his impressive education," he declared. "It’s clear he’s a very interesting individual."

Popovich noted that Hardy commanded respect and impressed him with his wisdom, sense of humor and physical presence. Hardy's experience and success led to Popovich placing trust in him, ultimately resulting in his appointment as bench coach.

He proudly claimed to be more positive than his colleague. He was a no-brainer from the start. I learned more from him than he learned from me.

It's surprising Hardy trains at same level as mentor Popovich, who has achieved Hall of Fame status.
